In Montreal, our correspondent, Pierre Gareau Inc., handles Kernaghan Adjusters’ claims.

Pierre Gareau founded his company in 1975, working mostly alone handling liability claims. After he earned his pilot’s license he became expert in adjusting claims in remote areas such as Northern Québec, Labrador and the Northwest Territories, flying his own plane. 

In 1994, Pierre Gareau Inc. purchased Champlain Insurance Adjusters, and in 1995 purchased Curtis Claims Bureau, an affiliate of Kernaghan Adjusters since 1988. Following this purchase, the three firms were merged and now operate their office from Laval, a suburb of Montreal.

Pierre Gareau Inc. is a member of the Canadian Insurance Adjusters Association and the Québec based “Association des experts en sinistres.”
