Phil Harris began his insurance career over 30 years ago in Nova Scotia, as an independent adjuster with a respected Sydney firm. In 1978 he moved to the insurer side to become a general adjuster, and was eventually promoted to Claims Supervisor for that firm’s Nova Scotia operations. Accepting the advancement to Claims Specialist for all lines of insurance, Phil soon gained recognition as a highly skilled technician, serving in that capacity until November 2007, when he chose to take early retirement.

In February 2008, however, Kernaghan Adjusters was pleased to announce that Phil had agreed to join us as our Nova Scotia Regional Manager. His proven expertise in casualty claims, as well as in areas ranging from major industrial losses to criminal investigations has already become invaluable to our operations in that region.

Phil is a member of the Nova Scotia Insurance Institute and has been a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Professionals of Canada (FCIP) since 1993. He holds a Level 4 Adjusting License for the province of Nova Scotia. In addition to preparing and conducting training seminars for various adjuster groups, Phil has acted as an instructor numerous Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) courses offered by the Insurance Institutes of Canada.

Phil is a recognized professional and an industry veteran whose ability to serve as an experienced mentor provides a great benefit to the entire Nova Scotia team.
